I'm sure you are aware of the cuts in the General Fund of Siskiyou County? The Siskiyou County Supervisors have had to cut many Departments for the year 2010-2011. The Libraries in Siskiyou County have been given a 6 month lifeline. The final budget will be approved in September, so anything can change between now and then. This is our time to pursue other opportunities for "Revenue" and "Volunteers."
The Public NEEDS to step up and help out the Local Libraries. The new hours for the Etna Branch Library are posted in the left-hand side of this page. The Friends of the Etna Public Library will be paying for one day and volunteers will open one other day. With help from the public we are trying to have the Etna Library more days.
Plan on Attending the next Friends of the Etna Public Library Meeting to keep up on the fast changing situations.
