“An endowment gift today will permit you to see
the benefits of that gift during your lifetime. Your gift creates opportunity.
And when opportunity is present, all things are possible.”
About Us
Some History
Several years ago, a
small but dedicated group of private citizens and philanthropists
established Fairchild Medical Center Foundation. Their vision was to
improve medical services and health care in Siskiyou County. Our
thanks to these people of great vision and generosity.
Since that
early inspiration, our
Foundation Board has grown
to 42 members, all professional members of our community, willing to
serve voluntarily thus assuring continued support of the Foundation
to the Fairchild Medical Center.
To ensure that our citizens continue
to have access to the best care available, the Foundation partners with
the Fairchild Medical Center to fund the purchase of equipment in
a variety of areas, obstetrics, pediatrics,
geriatrics and diagnostic imaging; supports a select number of critical
health projects throughout Siskiyou County. In addition, your
foundation provides much needed nursing scholarships to qualified
employees of the Fairchild Medical Center.
As they have been for more than 10 years, Foundation resources are allocated
with an eye toward the future. The generous support of private donors,
together with careful management of existing funds, has positioned Fairchild
Medical Center Foundation to pursue its vital mission - endowing the
future of medicine - well into the next century.
Fairchild Medical Center was presented with money raised by Fairchild
Medical Center Foundation to help with the cost of expanding and
upgrading the hospital’s Emergency Department. The Foundation raised
$250,000; half of which came from hospital employees and the balance
from members of our community.
John Pomeroy, Chairman of Fairchild Medical Center Foundation
re-enforced the importance of the mission - to support Fairchild Medical
Center by securing funding to provide exceptional health care to all in
need. Pomeroy stated: “Fairchild Medical Center and Fairchild Medical
Center Foundation are both non-profit organizations and depend on the
generous support of our community to maintain the high level of medical
care to which our community has become accustomed.”
Fund Development Director, Susan Ikenberry said “Fairchild Medical
Center Foundation is a volunteer board that works on different projects
to develop and improve the hospital. In the past eleven years the
Foundation has contributed over half a million dollars to support the
hospital.”
Jim Flett, chairman of the Planned Giving Committee said: “As an
organization we are constantly looking for ways to serve the community
better.” Both Pomeroy and Flett extended their gratitude on behalf of
the entire Fairchild Medical Center Foundation.
