Teak Fire Extinguisher Pocket

This Teak Fire Extinguisher Pocket is a copy of the original that Boston Whaler made for their Classic Montauk and Outrage boats.
The only major difference is the color of the inside box which is a couple shades whiter.
I made the frame from solid Teak using the original pattern from a pocket I purchased in 1988 from a Boston Whaler dealer.
A great place to keep your Fire Extinguisher out of the way but easily accessible.
The photos below show how it looks mounted on an Outrage model (same basic Console as Montauk), with and without the Fire Extinguisher itself.
The photos also show how the cutout is performed.
This is very simple to do and a cutout template for the hole is included with the pocket.

Layout and drill the 4 corners with a 2" hole saw

Cut along the layout lines with Hack Saw blade or other method of your choice

Install the Pocket and Teak frame and drill 6 holes for the mounting screws

Mount the Fire Extinguisher and project is finished
