AFC, CFC, CAFC Chugach Hills Jazz's Rascal
The Sire
ABOUT AFC-CFC-CAFC Chugach Hills Jazz's Rascal : Rascal was whelped on January 21, 1990 and comes from Jazztime Labs in Charlo, MT (406)644-2706. Larry and Anna Calvert are amateur trainers and have trained and run Rascal extensively in Field Trials in the US and Canada. Out of FC, AFC, CFC, CAFC Jazztime MHR and a mother who was a Grand Master Hunting Retriever, Rascal has an impressive list of accomplishments which include:
Rascal's strengths are marking, intelligence, and the tendency to run straight lines on retrieve. He is hard going and very intense, but has a disposition that makes him bidable at home and in the blind. He is about average size for a field trial lab at 75 lbs. Rascal is hunted each fall, has a good nose, and does a great job quartering on upland hunts. He is a fantastic pheasant dog, and is a natural pointer. Rascal has also proven to be a great producer of high quality pups. His pups are very birdy, outgoing, and athletic in the field, but have an easy going disposition at home.
Fiona II
The Dam
ABOUT FIONA II : Fiona was whelped on January 1, 1998 in a breeding that was arranged by Silver Creek Kennels in Woodland, CA (Charles Tyson 530-795-2025 or ctyson@dcn.davis.ca.us). She was bred to have outstanding field trial potential. Fio can be described as an extremely intense retriever with a calm and loving personality. Fio is a great marker and travels through the field with speed and desire. She loves the water and enters in a way that leaves quite a wake behind her. She also has a great nose and an upland field trial build. Fio has a tall, muscular "field trial" build and weighs in at 65 pounds. She was raised as a house dog and has a great personality.
ABOUT THIS BREEDING : Seeking to develop an outstanding prospect for both the duck blind and the pheasant field, MMK hopes to produce a natural pointing lab with outstanding field trial background. Both Fio's parents are Field Champions and this explains her intensity on retrieve. Fio's mother is also a natural pointing lab. Rascal has both a terrific field trial background and is a natural pointing lab. Both parents have a calm disposition and have thrown puppies that are eager to please.
COLOR AND SIZE : Both Rascal and Fio are athletic medium size black labs that are chocolate factored. Rascal is 75 pounds and Fio is 65 pounds and both have muscular builds and average height and weight. We expect half the litter to be chocolate and half black. Fio gave us eight puppies in her first litter.
COST : Prices will be as follows: $650 for chocolate males; $800 for chocolate females; $550 for black males; $700 for black females.
