Marble Mountain Kennels is proud to present
Glacier was born October 30, 1998 out of one of the finest breedings that Marble Mountain has done. He is a 75 pound Chocolate Male with a very atheletic body that was make to cover ground effortlessly and very quickly. He is made to move fast.
His parents are FC,AFC Jazztime Rascal (click here for more info on Rascal) and Marble Mountain Juneau ( click here for more info on Juneau). Both of the parents are exceptional hunting dogs with great dispositions. They are also both natural pointers and it was our hope that Glacier would carry the pointing trait, but as of yet I have not seen him point.
As far as disposition--he is the most polite dog I have ever trained. His soft personality has made him a joy to train and you can see his intense desire to please in every session you work with him. Glacier is a strong marker, loves water, and has a willingness to work hard to please the hunter and produce birds.
Glaciers's training has included basic obedience (sit, stay, come, heel, kennel, mat and down), basic hunting techniques (introduction to the gun, force fetch, delivery to hand at heel, steadiness, quartering, basic blinds, double and triple retrieves, remote stopping) and advanced hunting techniques (five direction handling, longer blind retrieves, multiple long marks, handling off a fall to handle a blind). He also has two seasons of hunting under his belt and gets better each time he sits in the blind. Glacier has had limited upland work, but shows great promise as he quarters nicely and has a good natural range. Glacier is also housebroken and good around young kids and other dogs.
The reason that we are selling Glacier is that we were looking for Glacier to be a stud dog and he fell short of our standards in two areas. First, he is a very slim dog and does not have a great head. In other words his conformation is not that of a classic lab. Secondly, he does not point and while both of his parents were natural pointers--we were hop8ing for a chocolate stud who pointed. We will continue to look.
We are asking $2500 for Glacier and can guarantee that he will make a great companion, house dog, a ready to go hunting partner and possibly a competition dog.
